The City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) is continuing its commitment to empowering Houstonians on their path to homeownership.

Throughout 2026, HCD will host a series of virtual quarterly trainings for both applicants and realtor/lender partners interested in learning more about the Harvey Homebuyer Assistance Program 2.0 (HbAP 2.0) and the traditional Homebuyer Assistance Program (HAP).

These sessions provide valuable insight into eligibility requirements, program benefits, and how HCD partners with lenders and realtors to make homeownership achievable for Houston residents.

Council Member Tiffany Thomas and the City of Houston’s Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) want residents to know—Help is here!

Getting your home repaired shouldn’t be complicated. That’s why the City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department has simplified the application, making it faster, easier, and more accessible for homeowners impacted by Winter Storm Uri to get the help they need.

You may qualify for:

  • Up to $100,000 for home rehabilitation
  • Up to $300,000 for full reconstruction
  • Up to $10,000 in reimbursement for out-of-pocket repairs
