Community Meetings Playlist
The City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) held our In-Person Spring 2026 Community Meeting at the Alief Neighborhood Center. We were honored to welcome Council Member Tiffany D. Thomas (District F), Chair of the City’s Housing & Affordability Committee, who offered opening remarks.
Participants learned about HCD programs, shared their input, and connected directly with staff and neighbors.

Each year, HCD receives about $50M in federal grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to improve housing and quality of life for Houstonians. These federal grants include: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), Housing Opportunities for Persons with HIV/AIDS (HOPWA), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). To receive these grants, the City must have.
