Turnaround Houston!
Meet Employers. Make Connections. Find Your Next Job.
May 13, 2026 -- The City of Houston Office of Business Opportunity (OBO), in partnership with Workforce Solutions and Houston City Council Member Edward Pollard, invites Houston-area job seekers to attend the Turnaround Houston Job Fair on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burnett Bayland Community Center.
Hosted within Council District J, this workforce initiative reflects a shared commitment to connecting residents with employment opportunities, workforce resources, and career pathways directly within the community.
Turnaround Houston is a community-driven workforce initiative focused on creating pathways to employment for unemployed, underemployed, and formerly incarcerated residents. Through hiring events, workforce resources, career readiness support, and second-chance employment opportunities, the program connects job seekers directly with employers and resources designed to support long-term success.
Employers representing multiple industries will be onsite and ready to meet candidates face-to-face. Attendees will have opportunities to explore open positions, submit applications, network with workforce professionals, and potentially participate in onsite interviews.
“We are proud to partner with Workforce Solutions and Council Member Pollard to bring this important event directly into the community,” said OBO Director Cylenthia Hoyrd. “Far too often, individuals looking for work do not have direct access to employers or professional resources. Events like Turnaround Houston help bridge that gap by creating real opportunities and meaningful connections.”
Council Member Edward Pollard emphasized the importance of expanding access to workforce opportunities for Houston residents.
“As Houston continues to grow, it is important that we ensure residents have access to meaningful employment opportunities,” Pollard said. “Hosting this event in District J allows us to bring employers, resources, and opportunities directly into the community. We encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to connect, network, and potentially begin a new career path.”
