June 25, 2026 - Houston police are investigating the fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 11900 Airline Drive about 10:35 p.m. on Wednesday (June 24).

The identity of the deceased male, 80, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer K. Hines reported:

The driver of a white SUV was traveling southbound on Airline at the above address when the vehicle struck a male attempting to cross the roadway, not in a crosswalk. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

The driver of the SUV fled without stopping to render aid.
