June 2, 2026 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 6700 Fondren Road about 9:55 a.m. on Monday (June 1).

The identity of the deceased female, 80, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer L. Nguyen reported: 

The driver of a grey Infiniti JX3 was traveling westbound on Fondren road when the vehicle struck a pedestrian, not in a crosswalk.  Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. 

The driver remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
