August 19, 2026 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 1900 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 11:35 p.m. on Tuesday (August 18).

The identity of the deceased male, 25, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer T. Hudson reported:

The operator of a black Yamaha motorcycle was traveling northbound on the Gulf Freeway when he attempted to take the exit ramp to Highway 59 and struck the barrier. He then went over the barrier and landed in the area below the freeway. The motorcycle came to a rest on the main lanes of Highway 59.

Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

No other persons or vehicles were believed to be involved in this crash.

The investigation is continuing.
