April 06, 2026 - Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 1100 Wheeler Street about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday (April 5).

The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer N. Solomon reported:

The male pedestrian was lying in the roadway at the above address when he was struck by a black sedan. A black Chevrolet Tahoe then also struck the pedestrian. Both vehicles did not stop to provide assistance and fled the scene.

Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.

The investigation is ongoing.
