April 06, 2026 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash in the 2200 block of Pierce Street about 12:20 a.m. on April 3.

The deceased male is identified as Lux Luis Eduardo, believed to be 19.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer J. Quezada reported:

A blue Dodge Charger was eastbound on Pierce Street when it collided with a black Toyota Corolla traveling southbound on Hutchins Street at the intersection of the two streets. Preliminary information indicated the Dodge had the right of way at the time of the crash while the Toyota may have failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

Five occupants in the Toyota were transported to area hospital, 2 in critical condition and 3 with minor injuries. Doctors later pronounced one of the passengers, Mr. Eduardo, deceased.

Both drivers of the Dodge and Toyota showed no signs of impairment.

The investigation is ongoing.
