April 06, 2026 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in the 13300 block of Westheimer Road about 9:15 p.m. on Sunday (April 5).

The identity of the deceased female is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Bui and Officer K. Hines reported:

A gray Honda Civic was traveling eastbound at the above address struck a female pedestrian who was possibly in a crosswalk. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the female deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Honda left the scene and was later located by HPD Westside patrol officers. A male, 31, believed to be the driver, was transported back to the scene of the crash by officers for questioning and was later released.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
