Mayor's Back 2 School & Health Fair
August 01, 2026 -- The 16th annual Mayor's Back 2 School & Health Fair Presented by Shell successfully supported thousands of economically disadvantaged Houston-area elementary school students and their families as they prepared for the new school year.
The event distributed 20,000 backpacks filled with essential school supplies while providing free on-site health services, including dental screenings and sealants, vision screenings, mental health screenings, and routine immunizations.
Families also connected with community organizations offering valuable health and social services, helping address needs beyond the classroom.
The fair once again demonstrated the importance of community partnerships in expanding access to essential resources and ensuring Houston students are healthy, prepared, and ready to succeed in the classroom.
